Welcome!Welcome to our first Christmas edition. Thanks for making The Incider’s launch in 2002 a success. Since the first issue appeared in August, we have had an incredible 202,568 hits and attracted readers from around the world, including the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark and Sweden. The response to our trip down memory lane with Paul Cheesley in Issue Six was phenomenal, so this festive edition includes another gift-wrapped interview with a City legend - Alan Walsh. We also tackle the new stadium plans and Tony Thorpe’s return to his old stamping ground (or, rather, lounging ground). We asked for your contributions, and reader Niall Duffy sent in a terrific piece on his memories of City in the top flight. Remember, you could win an Incider T-shirt by following his example and giving it a go. It’s the perfect Christmas gift for the person you love (even though it won’t arrive until 2003). Please help make Issue Eight the best ever by emailing your
letters, captions and articles. It’s out on January 6, so
until then Merry Christmas and let’s hope Santa brings us
the present we all want for 2003 – promotion. |
WALSHIE IN A WINTER WONDERLAND
The Incider quizzes City’s left wing legend Alan Walsh about his five years playing at Ashton Gate, the famous “Walshie Shuffle” and his new role developing the club’s schoolboy talent. We caught up with him after a training session, and in an exclusive interview, he also gives us the low-down on the club’s stars of the future and names the talented lads he believes we’ll be cheering on just a few years from now … |
