THE BIG VOTE – ISSUE ONE
RESULT
Our poll in Issue One asked you who Danny should select as
first choice goalkeeper when all are fully fit and available. Loan
signing Boaz Myhill was added to the squad after the poll went on
air, so he was not included in the options.
The results were as follows:
Billy Mercer: 55.7%
Steve Phillips: 40.60%
Mike Stowell: 3.8%
Total votes: 106
So Billy Mercer gets the nod from the fans after his brave
two-year battle to beat a career-threatening injury. He was voted
player of the year for his heroics between the posts before his
long lay off – and more than half of you want to see him back
in goal.
Interestingly, Steve Phillips’ vote went up by around
seven per cent after the first games of the season, showing how
supporters were encouraged by his improved kicking and sound distribution.
Mike Stowell came in a distant third despite holding down the
spot for much of last season.
