Welcome back to Issue Two of The Incider. Thanks for your support – and especially to those of you who took the time to write in. The launch issue got a staggering 446 hits and 12,000 page impressions in the first 24 hours alone. Editor RedTop was even interviewed on BCFC World while wearing an exclusive Incider T-shirt. And in this issue we’re giving you the chance to win one too – signed by the entire City team!

When we launched, we vowed to act as a fans’ champion, highlighting areas where the club must improve its service to supporters. So in this issue, we unveil Piewatch - our unique probe into the quality of catering at The Gate. For decades, City supporters have been forced to endure long queues for sub-standard, overpriced grub. So for the first time, we have conducted a survey of the time it takes to get served – together with the temperature and quality of the pies. The results show how patchy the service is - and Piewatch will return throughout the season to monitor whether things improve.

There’s a second installment of Ray of the Rovers and other favourites like Dickie X, the caption contest and the cartoons are back along with the opinion columns. But we also have a cut-out-and-keep guide to those handy phrases you’ll need when we play our friends in Cardiff in December. There’s plenty of time to learn them – so no excuses!

AN INCIDER SPECIAL INVESTIGATION

THE INCIDER launches a watchdog probe into the quality of food and speed of service at the Ashton Gate kiosks following long-standing complaints from supporters. We sent our undercover Pie Spies into all three home stands armed with notebooks, stopwatches and thermometers to measure the time is takes to queue for food at half-time and test the temperature and quality of the pies and hot drinks.
