Where exactly did the season end and the new one begin? It seems not two moments ago that we were all coming out of the Millennium Stadium depressed at yet another season of failure.
So much has since happened with the departure of Danny Wilson, the appointment of Brian Tinnion. Players have come and some have gone.
The first game under Tinnion didn't quite go as many predicted. But lets just wait and see what happens. I'm quietly confident that we'll be there or there about's again this season.
For those things going not quite right on the pitch its refreshing to see that things off the pitch are moving in the right direction.
Since the creation of the Fans Consultancy Committee around the middle of last season I've had a first eye view of some of the things that the club are trying to improve. Its not always noticeable and indeed you rarely get praised for doing something right but murdered for getting it wrong.
It was therefore pleasing to see certain little things go better than perhaps the pessimists expected. The Play Off ticket distribution was always going to be a nightmare and even then it was further complicated by being decided by the last possible date. Out poured the expectancy of another ticketing shambles but despite the initial hick ups, which when you are selling 35'000 tickets in 7 days is likely to happen, it went well and those discerning voices at the start seemed to have disappeared somewhat.
There are many things that our club perhaps could do better on, some of which involve too much money and in this bleak financial time I think those perhaps complaining that we can't open every stand, wanting an online ticketing database or a whole new stand should realise that in time with promotion and a high division stability that we'll start to see these things.
Its become apparent to me that since going to the FCC meetings that the club do take our suggestions on board, and in fact those given to us by fellow fans. The likes of Colin S and Richard G really do work hard to listen to what the fans want and deliver within the means they can.
Since the FCC started we've seen some improved catering, better ticket distribution with a exciting new members scheme, a bookies inside the gate and even some alcohol sold in the Atyeo. It would be wrong for the FCC to take all of the credit, not even a tiny bit really, for it as allot of these ideas were already going into operation prior to the forming of the FCC but there are little things we'll try and suggest to get right while implementing these things.
I think we should be thankful of a club so open to the fans, with the online community having access to a forum with Steve and Colin, a Fans group consulting with the club.
This will lead me nicely to what I would like to ask your help on. The FCC are being given the opportunity to run some of the pre match entertainment at the Brentford match. I've somewhat been installed as the man who'll instigate this so your thoughts on what you'd like to see pre match are welcome. Email me on the usual address: tomarse@theincider.com.
Come on you reds.
