East Enders - An Apology
The headline says it all really!
Last issue I talked about what I called the 'East End' trial and gave my views that, while I liked going in there, it was never going to work.
How wrong one person could be!
Since that article the East End has regularly attracted around 1,000 City fans for each home game, not least the excellent ‘Yellow Submariners' who definitely should be credited with some praise for making it such a success. We now have an atmosphere once again at Ashton Gate, and about time too. Well done to all involved.
Sadly, if only things on the pitch were going as well as off it. It's a very important month ahead and whatever happens the most important thing is that we get behind the team. It's make or break time and we must try and do whatever possible to support the lads out on the field.
With April being a killer month of fixtures, it's excellent to see the East End sold out for the matches at home. Let's hope the club can extend the East End trial into next season, but a lot will surely hinge on what division we are in.
Turning to the FCC, it's two months since I reported back on it. Things are going great guns and it seems that now a few meetings are under our belt that all the members are coming up with view points on all the subjects raised. A special mention must be given to Paul (aka - Working Late Again) who went to the trouble of emailing every league club to ask what half-time entertainment goes on at each club.
As you will probably agree, the half-time entertainment at Ashton Gate leaves a bit to be desired. In fact the whole entertainment leaves a bit to be desired right now, but let's not touch on that!
The club has already got most matches organised this season, but believe that the opportunity to let the FCC try some ideas out next season is possible. In that sense I ask you - What would you like to see go on at half time? - it can be anything from the usual half-time scores/draws to penalty competitions. Drop me a e-mail at the usual address with your ideas and I'll put the more sensible ones forward - tomarse@theincider.com
