In a continuing attempt to keep up with trends, the
Bristol City Club Shop is proud to announce the introduction of the
brand new ‘Midfield
Shirt’.
Comprising a double neck hole, the shirt is an ideal
gift for fans of Danny Wilson’s insistence on pairing Doherty
and Burnell together, regardless of their lack of goals and attacking
abilities. So we expect
to sell at least two this year.
Emblazoned on the back are the inseparable pair’s names and numbers,
so you too can have them together at all times, just like Danny. The
shirt is available in both the traditional red and the all new changed
strip of black as a tribute to Wilson’s determination to keep the
deep-lying pair together, regardless of opposition or venue.
The shirt is made to the same standard as the more traditional shirts,
though you may find the Doherty side fades after an hour of exercise.
When we asked TFG why this fading occurs they wished us to release the
following statement on their behalf:
“The Doherty and Burnell shirts worked fine
when used separately but, while it is no reflection on the quality
of fabric used, they simply
do not work when put together.”
Ironically, the idea for the ‘Midfield Shirt’ came from
TFG’s creative department.
